Treasure Hunt

  1. Introduction

The IEEE Student Branch of Jyothy Institute of Technology successfully organized an exciting and intellectually stimulating event titled “Treasure Hunt” for the entire college community on 16-10-2025. This event aimed to encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and technical aptitude among students through a blend of fun and technical challenges.

The event featured a prize pool of ₹5000 and witnessed enthusiastic participation from across various departments. To promote IEEE membership, the entry fee was set at ₹200 per team, while teams comprising two IEEE members enjoyed a discounted entry fee of ₹100.

A total of 51 teams registered for the event, making it one of the most engaging and competitive activities organized by the IEEE Student Branch in the current semester.

  1. Event Structure

The Treasure Hunt event consisted of three major rounds, each designed to test different skill sets—knowledge, logic, and technical application.

Round 1: The Quiz Round

  • Time & Venue: 1:10 p.m., Auditorium, Jyothy Institute of Technology
  • Description: The first round featured a 50-question quiz covering a diverse range of topics, including general knowledge, science, technology, and pop culture (memes and current trends).
  • Format & Duration: The quiz lasted five minutes, during which each team had to tick the correct answers on the provided sheets.
  • Outcome: Based on the highest number of correct answers, 15 teams were shortlisted for the next round. A short refreshment break followed while the evaluation was in progress.

Round 2: The Treasure Hunt Round

  • Time & Venue: 3:30 p.m., ECE Department Floor
  • Description: The second round was an interactive treasure hunt that combined fun with technical knowledge. Hidden across six laboratoriesfour major electronic components were strategically placed, each linked to a riddle.
  • Mechanism: Teams had to interpret riddles to locate the specific components. A volunteer accompanied each group to monitor and record the time.
  • Outcome: The five fastest teams to complete the hunt qualified for the final round.

Round 3: The Technical Assembly Round

  • Time: 4:10 p.m.
  • Description: The final round challenged the selected teams to apply their technical expertise. Each team received a set of electronic components, a block diagram, and a partial code snippet. They were tasked with assembling a project prototype based on the given resources.
  • Judgment Criteria: The teams were evaluated based on the accuracy, functionality, and completion time of their project.
  • Winners:
