Founded 2017 | Jyothy Institute of Technology
Welcome to the hangar of Team Garuthmaan, the Aero Club of Jyothy Institute of Technology (JIT). We are a multidisciplinary team of aviation enthusiasts, with a simple mission: turn ambitious, out-of-the-box designs into aircraft that conquer the skies. For us, aeromodelling is engineering as art—where structural elegance meets aerodynamic perfection.
Systematically design and engineer advanced fixed-wing aircraft and agile multi-rotors.
Develop, configure, and optimize every system for peak performance and efficiency throughout our workflow.
Execute precision fabrication to turn complex designs into reality.
Long-Term Goal: To build skilled teams of individuals capable of contributing to the aircraft development process and ensuring optimal functionality.
The Objective: To develop commercial-grade platforms with real-world use cases, engineered to the highest standards of excellence.
Current Focus — SAE Aero Design 2027: We are in active development for the SAE Aero Design 2027 competition, with our team fully engaged across the design and analysis phases.
| Year | Achievement |
| 2018 | 5th Place, SAE Aero West (Van Nuys, USA) — International Debut |
| 2023 | 3rd Place, International Skill Competition for Space Systems, HITECH-2023 (Russia) |
| 2023 | 9th Place, SAE Aero East (Florida, USA) |
| 2024 | 12th Place, SAE Aero West |
| 2025 | 15th Place, SAE Aero East (Florida, USA) |
Campus Training: We have trained NCC cadets at JIT in building, operating, and safely flying drones—extending our expertise beyond the team to the wider campus community.
Workshops: We host hands-on workshops for enthusiasts on the fundamentals of flight, sharing our passion with aspiring aeromodellers.
Whether optimizing high-camber airfoils for heavy-lift payloads or troubleshooting avionics in the lab, Team Garuthmaan persistently engineers for the skies.
