Dr. Krishna Venkatesh

Dr. Krishna Venkatesh, a GATE scholar and Mechanical Engineer, holds a Ph.D. in Nano Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. With over 25 years of experience across industry, research, academia, consultancy, and administration, he has led numerous high-impact initiatives.

He is the Founding Director of the Centre for Incubation, Innovation, Research and Consultancy (CIIRC)—a DSIR, GOI-recognized organization established by Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri. Under his stewardship, CIIRC has established advanced innovation labs across 18 domains of Science & Technology and an Atal Incubation Centre supported by NITI Aayog, GoI.

Dr. Venkatesh serves on the Vision Group on Nanotechnology (GoK), the Steering Committee of TÜV Rheinland (Germany), and has been part of the Executive Council of VTU and the Karnataka Knowledge Commission in areas related to unmanned systems. He has held positions at NAL, BEML, IISc, DRDO, VTU, and Jain University, and was instrumental in establishing a Technology Business Incubator (DST & Alstom), a FIST-supported Instrumentation Centre, the TÜV Rheinland Energy Programme, and a Food Technology Programme funded by MoFPI.

He has secured numerous projects funded by DRDO, DOS, DST, DBT, DAE, MOES, AYUSH, CEFIPRA, GITA, NITI Aayog, and industry partners. With over 100 publications, 3000 + citations, several patents (filed and granted), five products, monographs, and book chapters, Dr. Venkatesh has been recognized with awards fromDiamant (Germany), KSCST, Honeywell, and the Institution of Engineers (India). He is an avid sporting personality who is into a variety of sporting activities besides being a fellow of various professional bodies such as (IIE, IIPE, & ISAMPE, TSI), a ’and others. He exemplifies the convergence of scientific excellence, visionary leadership, and institutional innovation, shaping India’s research and entrepreneurial landscape with lasting impact.
