An informative and engaging session on Module 5: Software Quality and Software Project Estimation was conducted by Mr. Vinayak from Ericsson India for all sections of V Semester CSE. The session complemented the academic curriculum by integrating industrial viewpoints, real-time practices, and practical insights essential for understanding modern software engineering processes.
We extend our gratitude to Management, Shri Sringeri Sharada Peetham and Jyothy Charitable Trust, Dr. Gopalakrishna K, Principal, and Dr. Prabhanjan S, Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering for supporting us to organize this partial delivery session by the industry person.
The following topics of Module 5 were covered:
Software Quality: Introduction, The place of software quality in project planning, Importance of software quality, Defining software quality, Software quality models, product versus process quality management. Software Project Estimation: Observations on Estimation, Decomposition Techniques, Empirical Estimation Models.
The session was greatly appreciated by the students, who benefited from the resource person’s industry experience, which helped them connect theoretical concepts with real project environments. He simplified complex concepts and illustrated them with relevant examples and provided insights into professional software engineering practices, giving students a clearer understanding of quality management and estimation techniques. Students provided positive feedback, highlighting that the session enhanced their understanding, broadened their perspective, and added practical value to their learning.
