| Event Summary | Induction is a part and parcel of any engineering colleges as per the VTU guidelines for the first-year batch students. During this induction programme, colleges have to brief about the new curriculum implemented from the academic year 2025-26.
The program was designed to include engineered academic and non-academic activities, to nurture, mould and fortify engineering entrants for the days to come. The weeklong’ phase -1 induction program along with bridge course commenced from 01/9/25 to 16/09/25 9.30am to 4pm in our campus. corridors filled with bustling sound of newly admitted students. The Main Objectives of the Phase-1 Induction Program was: ü To help the engineering entrants feel at ease and feel comfortable in the new environment ü To help them transit to mainstream engineering studies through the introduction of ethos and culture of the institution ü To help entrants build progressive and emotional bonds with peers and faculty members to self-explore and comprehend the larger purpose ü To promote holistic development through the exposure of wide gamut of curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. |
| Highlights | Bridge course was organized for the newly admitted students to transact from school to college atmosphere. It aims at knowledge development of principles allowing students to brush up on the fundamentals. It helps to reorient students from rote learning to application-based learning.
The following subjects were taken by our faculty members: Application of Mathematics. Basics of IOT Problem solving through programming Web development Basic of Robotics.
Experts from academia and industry and in house faculty were invited as resource persons to address the students. Sessions covered topics like Language Proficiency and talk on Tech clubs, Developing a warrior’s Mindset, power of positive thinking etc. career pathways in engineering, effective study habits, and the role of innovation in today’s tech landscape. The speakers engaged students through real-world examples and Q&A, making the sessions interactive and relevant. The post lunch sessions were organized under Mrs. Usha (Dept. Of Humanities) & Team’s coordination. The induction event comprised distinct segments aimed at fostering teamwork, problem-solving skills, and entrepreneurial thinking among the participants. Each segment was carefully crafted to offer a unique blend of entertainment and educational value. World Language Club (WLC) and the English Forum, emphasized the importance of communication and soft skills in their professional journeys. This session provided a glimpse into the club’s activities, including workshops, debates, and elocution, and how they foster linguistic and literary skills reflecting the values of expression and imagination that WLC stands for. Sports was conducted to relax and refresh the students as it helps to reduce stress and improve concentration. Sports can also improve cognitive and memory functions. It teaches teamwork, leadership, and discipline. It also teaches life skills and helps in the overall development of personality. The post lunch session also witnessed pottery and painting sessions which the students thoroughly enjoyed. A one-day trip to Mandargiri, Tumkur district was organised to relate to the social environment as well as the surroundings. These one-day trips help the students with incredible memories and to let the students understand the environment, place history and politics. Alongside students also took up the cleanliness drive as a social and civic responsibility. |
| Outcome | Based on the student feedback, it is evident that most students gained the knowledge and skills of basic concepts of engineering and science subjects. The programme strongly motivated them, enhanced their confidence, and will help them transition comfortably into the four-year engineering course. Overall, the Bridge Course was joyful and informative. |

| Conclusion | The Induction Program for first-year students in 2025 was a dynamic blend of activities that allowed freshers to feel welcomed, inspired, and confident. Through interactive games, brainstorming sessions, and skill-building activities, we aimed to create a foundation for their college journey, marked by friendships, curiosity, and a shared vision of growth. The enthusiasm, engagement, and willingness to learn demonstrated by the participants were highly encouraging, signaling a bright and motivated batch that’s ready to make the most of the opportunities at hand. The program concluded with students feeling more connected, motivated, and prepared for their academic journey ahead |
