Alumni Interaction Session

  1. Introduction

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering organised an Alumni Interaction Session on 6th November 2025 to guide students on “How to Participate in Intercollegiate Technical Events.”

The session was conducted by our distinguished alumnus Mr. Karthik B. R, who has an excellent track record of winning multiple hackathons and intercollegiate technical competitions during his academic tenure.

A highly motivated and accomplished alumnus, Mr. Karthik had participated in several high-level hackathons and secured first place in multiple events. His experience and achievements made him the perfect resource person to guide and inspire the current batch.

  1. Session Highlights

Mr. Karthik shared valuable insights on:

  • Importance of participating in hackathons, coding contests, and technical fests
  • Benefits of competitions: confidence building, teamwork, real-time problem solving
  • How to identify, register, and prepare for intercollegiate events
  • Tips for building strong teams and preparing effective project ideas
  • Time management and strategy during hackathons
  • His personal journey—successes, challenges, and lessons learned

The session was highly interactive, with several students engaging in Q&A about preparation strategies and career advantages of participating in technical competitions.

  1. Participation

A total of 180 students from the 3rd Semester CSE actively took part in the session.
Students expressed that the talk was extremely informative and motivating, giving them clarity and confidence to begin participating in competitive technical events.

The session effectively:

  • Encouraged students to explore a wide range of hackathons and technical events
  • Provided practical steps for participation and preparation
  • Motivated students to build portfolios and strengthen technical profiles
  • Strengthened the alumni-department connection
  1. Conclusion

The Alumni Interaction Session conducted by Mr. Karthik B. R was a great success and greatly benefitted the students.
