The AICTE–VAANI Sponsored Two-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Frontiers of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science was inaugurated on 14th November 2025 at 9:00 AM at Jyothy Institute of Technology.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by:
The dignitaries addressed the gathering with insightful remarks on the importance of Artificial Intelligence, the need for capacity building among faculty members, and the futuristic opportunities in multidisciplinary AI research.
A total of 85 participants from various engineering institutions across Karnataka attended the FDP.
The participants included faculty members, researchers, and postgraduate students from multiple engineering disciplines, reflecting the multidisciplinary relevance of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
Across two days, eight eminent speakers from academia and industry delivered expert sessions on cutting-edge topics in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
The schedule, as per AICTE–VAANI guidelines, included the following sessions:
1. Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
Speaker: Mr. Subramanya Navda, Associate Software Engineer, JP Morgan.
2. How AI Can Transform Indian Languages
Speaker: Mr. T. G. Srinidhi, Senior Manager – Data Engineering, TE Connectivity.
3. Research Opportunities and Funding in AI & Data Science
Speaker: Mr. Srinidhi Kulkarni V, Assistant Professor, JIT.
4. Deep Learning Fundamentals
Speaker: Mr. Raghavendra Prasad, Assistant Professor, RV College of Engineering.
5. Case Studies and Applications of AI
Speaker: Mr. Harsha G. S., AI Expert.
6. Data Science for Smart Cities and IoT
Speaker: Dr. Raghavendra M., CEO, Chisel Craft.
7. Generative AI
Speaker: Dr. Mithun B. N., HoD – ISE, APS College of Engineering.
8. Natural Language Processing and Language Models
Speaker: Dr. Gururaja H. S., Professor, BMS College of Engineering.
The final session concluded with a valedictory ceremony at 4:00 PM.
