Beyond management, Professor Mahadevan has made significant contributions to the promotion of Sanskrit and Indic knowledge systems through his association with Samskrita Bharati, national policy bodies, and public dissemination initiatives, and currently devotes his time to propagating the wisdom of Vedānta, the Bhagavad Gītā, and Sanātana Dharma to broader audiences.
Sri Dakshinamurthy, as the embodiment of knowledge, is beautifully presented in various texts and succinctly captured by Sri Adi Shankaracharya in the Sri Dakshinamurthy Ashtaka. This profound hymn highlights the Self as pure, eternal consciousness beyond body and mind, and portrays the universe as a transient illusion veiling ultimate reality, while emphasizing the Guru’s role in imparting this wisdom. Engaging with these concepts can be a transformative experience, particularly for youngsters at crucial crossroads in life. To enable this, Vedanta Bharati, under the blessings and guidance of HH Sri Sri Shankara Bharati Mahaswamiji, has designed a compact program aimed at introducing young minds to these teachings and guiding them towards contemplation, meditation, and inner transformation. |

| Outcome | The session provided valuable insights into the Sri Dakshinamurthy Ashtaka by Sri Adi Shankaracharya. The session in engineering terms, can be seen as a “user manual” for life and knowledge. It explained that our true Self is like the core processor—pure consciousness, unchanging and permanent—while the external world is like a temporary simulation or virtual reality, which often distracts us from the main system. The Guru acts like a mentor or debugger, helping us identify the illusions and reconnect with the fundamental source code of existence.
Vedanta Bharati, under the blessings of HH Sri Sri Shankara Bharati Mahaswamiji, has created a concise, well-structured knowledge program for students to explore these ideas and integrate them into their thinking, much like upgrading to a higher version of both software (mind) and hardware (life). |
