Dr. Poonam Shekhawat holds a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from Government Engineering College, Kota, M.Tech. in Disaster Assessment and Mitigation from NIT Jaipur, and a Ph.D. from NIT Jaipur, externally supervised from NTNU Norway in 2021. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Jyothy Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, India. Dr. Poonam has been associated in research and teaching from past six years at various institutes. She has been awarded GATE scholarship in 2013. She has served as Assistant Professor at Amity University and GD Goenka University. She has published and reviewed several SCI and SCOPUS indexed journal articles. She is on the Editorial Board of several international journals. She has chaired technical sessions in G20 C20 international conference IACESD-2023 held at Jyothy Institute of Technology, Bengaluru and ICMAST-2022 held at GD Goenka University, Gurugram. Her areas of interest include Flyash-based Geopolymer, Soil Stabilization using Geopolymer, Sustainable Geotechnical Engineering, Fiber Reinforcement Technique, Soil Stabilization using Waste Materials, and Ground Improvement Techniques.
