Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Student Activity Report

As part of the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) course (BIKS609), an interactive classroom activity was conducted to enhance students’ awareness and confidence in presenting traditional knowledge concepts. In the previous class, students were instructed to prepare a brief 2-minute talk on the concept of IKS, its importance, and its relevance in the modern world.
During today’s session, students enthusiastically participated and shared their understanding of Indian Knowledge Systems. The activity aimed at reducing stage fear, improving communication skills, and encouraging students to appreciate the depth and applicability of indigenous knowledge in contemporary science and technology.
Students spoke on various perspectives of IKS including its philosophical foundations, scientific contributions, cultural relevance, and its integration into modern interdisciplinary learning. The session witnessed active engagement, thoughtful insights, and confident presentations by the students.
The activity successfully created awareness about IKS while also nurturing public speaking skills and academic curiosity. Overall, the session was highly interactive and productive, reflecting students’ growing interest in exploring India’s rich knowledge heritage.
