“Integrated Approaches and Sustainable Practices in Geotechnics”

AICTE Teaching and Learning (ATAL) sponsored One week Technical Faculty Development
Programme on “Integrated Approaches and Sustainable Practices in Geotechnics” was organized by
Department of Civil Engineering, Jyothy Institute of Technology from 20/11/2023 to 25/11/2023.
IASPG focussed on innovative and holistic strategies within geotechnics for achieving sustainability.
This program brings together experts and researchers to explore integrated approaches that harmonize
engineering with environmental and societal needs. Attendees will delve into cutting-edge
collaboration for a more resilient and ecologically conscious geotechnical future.

The Inaugural Session of the Faculty Development Programme was held on 20th November 2023,
9:00am onwards. The Chief Guest of the Inaugural Programme was Dr. Sreevalsa Kolathayar,
Associate Professor, National Institute of Technology-Karnataka, Surathkal. The inaugural session
was followed by a session by Dr. Sreevalsa marking the beginning of the FDP.

Over a period of 6 days that followed, there were wide areas of discussions with respect to the
Geotechnical Practices, Soil Structure Interactions, Microseismics etc. by renowned experts from
Academia, Industry as well as Research. A talk on stress management was included as a part of the
FDP

A valedictory ceremony was held on the final day with Dr. Neelima Satyam delivering her talk and
providing an apt ending to the successful event.
