The three days skill development programme on Product Design andDevelopment – Simulation was organized for 4 th sem and 6 th sem students of Mechanical Engineering from 4 th April to 6 th April 2025 by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Jyothy Institute of Technology, Bangalore. Dr. Jayathirtha M Patil, Asst Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering welcomed our Principal Dr. Gopalakrishna K, Vice Principal and HOD Dr. C.B Mohan, all faculty members and technical staff, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Gopalakrishna K highlighted the significance of current trends in technologies and also emphasises more on the requirement of skills and importance of simulation software for industries. Also, highlighted the job opportunities in the field of CAD and CAE. Dr. C.B Mohan highlighted the significance of finite element analysis, role of design engineers and also the job opportunities in CAE industries.
DAY – 1 (04-04-2025)
Dr. Raghavendra J V and Dr. Jayathirtha M Patil, Asst Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, started the training session with introduction to finite element analysis, steps involved in the product design and development and also highlighted the pivotal role of design engineers in manufacturing industries. The practical session started with structural problems (Beams), stress concentration problems. The hands-on session started utilizing the finite element analysis software. Finally, all students modelled and analyzed the problems and prepared the detailed report. Mr. Sreedhara G.P, Asst professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Mahesh, Foreman, Department of Mechanical Engineering guided the students to complete the practical session of DAY 1.
